Description

She entrusts all the roles to nine actresses and presents a world where women actively engage in a reflection on violent action.
Two branches of the same royal family—the Kauravas and the Pandavas—are locked in an age-old feud, plunging the world into a war as inevitable as it is absolute. This 2,000-year-old Sanskrit myth blends epic, fantasy, and philosophical meditation. Pauline Bayle reveals its contemporary power and explores the intimate and collective experience of violence.
The director makes a radical choice: to entrust all the roles to actresses of different generations. After the successes of her productions of the Iliad, the Odyssey, and Lost Illusions, she tackles another monumental work, offering a version of breathtaking modernity. This foundational myth then becomes a mirror held up to our times, an essential key to reflecting on our rightful place in the world.
