Veyradèyre Dam

Associations:Home/Built heritage/Veyradèyre Dam

Description

The Grange dam on the Veyradèyre supplies a water intake towards Lake Issarlès. It measures 12.5 meters in height, 45 meters in length. It was impounded in 1954. Trout fishing.

It is the smallest dam in the network present in the Ardèche mountains, its retention capacity is 0.05 m3.

The Grange dam is part of a network of several reservoirs (Lake Issarlès, Gage, La Palisse) intended to capture and store water from the Ardèche plateau. Thanks to a network of galleries of nearly 25km, water is transported to the underground plant at Montpezat sous Bauzon.
