Description
Nestled in the hollow of the Tauron valley, Cros de Georand is a charming village in the Ardèche mountains. Populated by 200 inhabitants, the town covers nearly 4400 hectares (one of the largest in the department due to its area).
The main curiosities are: the dams of La Palisse and Gage, the wind farm located at a place called Tauleigne, the basalt flows of the Loire gorges.
Cros de Georand is a historic city, stronghold of the Sires of Georand, a village renowned for its microclimate, its calm environment, the beauty of its landscapes (fir woods, beeches, natural meadows).
Activities: the proximity of nature allows beautiful hikes (Sentier L'Eau et sa Force), trout fishing, climbing at the Combes site, swimming in the rivers, tennis, boules…. The traditional and thematic festival of the village takes place on August 15 and perpetuates a friendly spirit and a village solidarity which is always there….
