Description
In the heart of the snow-covered Ardèche mountains, spend a weekend stepping into the shoes of a Far North trapper. A snowshoeing weekend in the Massif Central, with an unusual night in a bivouac.
Depending on your starting point, the Ardèche Mountains are either the first or last mountains of the eastern Massif Central. This mountainous region is highly contrasted, with one part under a strong Mediterranean influence and another that benefits from a mountain climate and snow in winter.
It is on this part of the Ardèche Mountains located at more than 1200 meters altitude that we offer you this weekend or these 2 days of snowshoeing with a night in winter bivouac under igloo or tipi/heated tent.

2-day/1-night snowshoeing trip with 2 half-days of activity. Easy level.
For 3 to 10 people. From age 11. Groups of individuals. Possibility to travel for 2 people with a supplement of €75/person. Groups formed from 3 people, departure date at your convenience.
This program is given as a guide only; it may be modified by your guide to adapt to the group, weather and snow conditions.
MATERIALS TO PROVIDE
For hiking
– Backpack 45 to 60 liters
– High-top, waterproof hiking boots suitable for snowshoeing
– Gore-tex type jacket with hood
– Waterproof trousers or overtrousers
– Fleece jacket
– 2 pairs of gloves
– Bonnet
- Sunglasses
– Lip and skin protection
– A pair of gaiters
For bivouacs
– A sleeping bag with a minimum comfort temperature of -10 to -5 °C (extra blankets provided)
– Self-inflating mattress or camp bed in its cover
– Plate or bowl, cutlery, cup
– Headlamp with spare batteries (avoid rechargeable batteries which drain quickly in the cold)
– Warm underwear for the night
– 1 candle
– Hand warmers
For your needs during your hike
– Biodegradable toilet paper
– Biodegradable soap or cleansing gel
Small personal pharmacy (be careful not to confuse it with a field hospital):
– Pain reliever (aspirin, Doliprane), vitamin C, elastic bandage, adhesive bandages, double skin (Compeed), earplugs
– Your personal medications…
A group pharmacy is planned for the group.
Obligatory :
– 1 survival blanket per participant
