Description
This stay is located on the eastern edge of the Massif Central between 1300 and 1750m above sea level. These are high plateaus punctuated by peaks that are actually ancient volcanoes. It is also the land of the sources of the Loire, and discovering under the snow where the longest river in France has its source is quite unexpected. The landscapes crossed are very varied between forests and pastures which alternate between a very intimate atmosphere and large open spaces with 360° views (from the top of the peaks) which can reach as far as the Alpine Massif on a clear day. A territory of very marked border between the Padgels (inhabitants of the plateau) and Rayols (inhabitants of the valleys), the Atlantic-Mediterranean watershed clearly materializes the difference between these two geographical entities. It is also the land of the Burle, this meteorological phenomenon where the wind lifts the snow preventing all visibility. The wind here sculpts the snow into magnificent drifts, makes the trees twist, and it is drunk on the open air that you will fill up on oxygen and rejuvenation.
Your guide will lead you through hidden valleys, wild ridges, and ancient forests to discover everything that makes this magnificent region so remarkable. Lunch will be served in a warm setting.
