Two spaces: the replica, the Aurignacian Gallery
The visit to the Chauvet 2 Cave recreates the magic and conditions of visiting the original cave.
Through a route carried out on a footbridge punctuated by 10 stopping and observation stations, and in the middle of stalagmites and stalactites, the animals sublimely traced by our Aurignacian ancestors emerge from the darkness.
In the freshness and humidity, the sound and olfactory worlds are faithfully reproduced, to offer you total immersion.
After the emotion, the explanation. In an interactive and fun setting, the Galerie de l'Aurignacien allows you to better understand the culture of our ancestors, the techniques of cave art, and the animals which once served as their models.
These two spaces nourish you with wonders and knowledge.
Experience a moment out of time, or rather 36000 years ago, at the time when the woolly mammoth fed in the Ardèche Valley!
