Home/Events/Internship on the farm: Milking goats and making cheese using the old-fashioned method
Come experience the daily life of the Pagels, the women and men from above and the animals who share their lives. Goats, chickens, geese, cats, dogs... populate our farm where we produce goat cheese, blueberry jam and fodder.

Description

Test yourself at making cheese the old-fashioned way: milking by hand, curdling and molding in grandmother's utensils. The stages of making your cheese will punctuate your internship on the farm; and you will also be invited to participate in our summer activities: caring for the farmyard, the goats, taking the herd out to the pastures, installing fences for the goats, participating in haying for the herd, or sorting blueberries. wild… depending on the weather conditions.

The farm is in the heart of the village of Issanlas, located at an altitude of 1220 m, with its breathtaking view of the Sucs chain (Mont Gerbier de Jonc, Mont Mézenc) and its peat bogs rich in biodiversity.

You can stay in our stopover gîte, “At the Maison de la Louisette”, which has kept all the authenticity of mountain farms: kitchen with wood paneling, large fireplace, old-fashioned closet bed… We wanted to keep it " in his juice ". Comfort is therefore basic: no television, no wifi, no heating in the rooms… a change of scenery guaranteed!

“A la Louisette”, we meet at the bend of a hike, during a stage of travel, to share cooking, a night by the fire (yes, even in summer!), or our travel itinerary. getaway.
