Description
The Hubac des Plaines forest house is located in the heart of the Chambons forest massif, a forest dominated by fir and beech species. This former house of Waters and Forests has always been inhabited by forest rangers. The harshness of the winter climate and the isolation have led them to give way to vacationers in search of nature and tranquillity.
The relative isolation of the site makes it a privileged place to discover nature. Before the revolution, the national forest of Chambons belonged to the Cistercian abbey of the same name. Quiet, this place is the perfect choice to relax and practice many outdoor activities. Located in the heart of the mixed biological reserve of Grand Tanargue, the forest house overlooks a meadow maintained by regular grazing. The forest all around gives the site a mountain atmosphere.
Located at 1200 meters above sea level, the building has been completely renovated. Large capacity (up to 15 seats), it is suitable for gatherings of family or friends with multiple interests: rest for some, outdoor activities for others. All in stone, with thick walls, the building has character. Note the interior freshness even in summer and a beautiful light. On the ground floor, a vaulted stone living room and an Alsatian stove overlooks a convivial dining room. You will also find an equipped kitchen, toilets and a room accessible to people with reduced mobility. Upstairs, 4 large bedrooms are equipped with bathrooms. The house is connected to the water distribution network and the public electricity network. A stone barbecue is outside.
Activities: Hiking and mountain biking (trails nearby), canyoning, climbing are some of the outdoor activities practiced in an exceptional setting. For ski enthusiasts, the cottage is located between the station Croix de Bauzon and La Chavade Bel Air.
Access to the site: Access by a private road from the National Forestry Office, several parking spaces in front of the forester's house. Arrival after 16 p.m. and departure before noon.
