The church of Lachapelle-Graillouse was built in the XNUMXth century. Classified in the directory of historical monuments, it is called "Notre-Dame de l'Assomption".

Description

It is located on a promontory which also includes the main square of the village and some old houses. Like many of the churches on the Ardèche plateau, that of Lachapelle-Graillouse has a facade including a comb bell tower with four bells of different sizes. 1041, year of construction of the bell tower of the church, figure engraved in large, very legible figures on the internal face of one of the two pillars in the middle of the bell tower.
Part of the masonry, two bird sculptures are visible, one inside the heart, another in the nave of the church. Those who speak patois will know if they are grails or grails. Two human faces are sculpted at the base of the uprights of one of the side chapels.
